Though “sabong” – cockfighting – is illegal in many countries, it is not so in Philippines. In fact, it is a favourite pastime amongst them and can be considered a national sport. Sharp razors are attached to the cock’s feet when fighting and adjusted to get the maximum impact with minimal movement. This Filipino sport has since generated interest internationally with American, Japanese etc breeders coming to Philippines to take part in competitions.
